November 2009

I'm WAY behind on blogging, so I'm going to do a few "summary" posts!

Colton's class had their Thanksgiving lunch with LOTS of yummy food!

Kenleigh is trying to give up naps, but every now & then she really needs one. This is how I found her after school one day.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Aunt Lulie & Uncle Aaron's on Sunday after Thanksgiving. The cousins are starting to play together so well now! This is how we found them - Colton reading to the little ones.

I attempted to get some pictures of the kids for Christmas cards. None of them turned out as I'd hoped, but I still got a few cute ones!

San Antonio

Dusty, Kenleigh & I headed down to San Antonio for Dusty to run in the 2009 Rock N Roll San Antonio Marathon. Colton had the option of going with us, but opted to stay home so he didn't miss school (he LOVES school & has only missed 1 day of school in 3 years). It was Kenleigh's first plane ride - it didn't phase her at all. I would say "Look Kenleigh, we're moving" or "Look Kenleigh, we're in the air" - she would glance out the window & say "Cool" & go right back to her coloring. We got this coloring book at the airport gift shop that kept her occupied the entire flight down.

We flew into Austin & met Uncle Mark & Keri for lunch. Then followed Uncle Mark to New Braunfels to stay with Uncle Bobby & Aunt Kay. I was so excited to be in Texas - it had been a long time since I'd been down to visit family. The house was great - Kenleigh even went in for a little swim!

We spent the next day in San Antonio walking around downtown & at The Riverwalk.

We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner with the family.

There are TONS of deer around their neighborhood - it is nothing to see 8 to 10 deer standing in the yards. On one of our walks, we even saw a group of 14! We decided to get up one morning & try to feed them.

Kenleigh, Uncle Bobby, Aunt Kay & I went down to watch Daddy cross the finish line. We ended up on the 1/2 marathon side, so it was a little hard to see him but we did get to watch him finish!

(That's Dusty in the orange shirt w/ his head down)

The neighborhood was great for taking walks.

We had a WONDERFUL time & I can't wait to go back!!!

UT Homecoming

A Homecoming tradition - the Tennessee Walking Horse

I took the kids down to UT to watch the Homecoming Parade. It was something I always enjoyed watching when I was in school. Kenleigh loved all the floats - Colton's favorite part was trying to catch as much candy as he could! The next day, Colton & I went to see the Vols play in the Homecoming game.

It's GONE!!

Before
AFTER

I have been growing out my hair for a little over 2 years. I'm going to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Even though I was very nervous, I went in for the cut. She cut 12 inches off the back & 10 inches off the side. I'm getting used to the new style - & need another cut already!

Silly Ivy

I was inside & heard Ivy barking (which isn't anything out of the ordinary :) ) but it kept up every few seconds. I looked out the window & this is what I saw -

I guess she wanted to swing, too!

Halloween

Kenleigh's cat face jack-o-lantern
Colton's bat mouth jack-o-lantern

We had an exciting Halloween again this year. We started the night off with a visit to Aunt Lulie & Uncle Aaron's house to meet up with the Trimbles. After going down Julie's street, we headed to see Papaw & Kay Kay & some family friends, then ended the night in our neighborhood. The kids accumulated more candy than they could ever eat!!
