Introducing.....

IVY

We brought home a new puppy last Sunday - another Chocolate Lab. Dusty & I didn't tell the kids where we were going & they both had fallen asleep on the way. When we got them out of the car, their faces just lit up (& stayed like that the whole way home). The kids are fighting over who gets to let her out when we get home & who's bed she gets to lay on.

We had to continue with the Cubs name theme. Wrigley is named for Wrigley Field & Ivy is named for the ivy on the wall at Wrigley Field. So far, the two are getting along well. The only time Wrigley really growls is if Ivy gets close to her food bowls. She gets a little jealous sometimes because Ivy will get on the beds & Wrigley knows she isn't allowed. Ivy has put a little spring in old Wrigley!

Snowman

Sorry for the delayed post, but I had to get some pictures of our recent snow days. We had a small amount of snow on Jan 19 then a big snow on Feb 2. On the 2nd, school was let out early & Kay Kay picked up Colton so Mommy & Kenleigh didn't have to get out in it.

It was Kenleigh's first real snow, so we went out to "play". Kenleigh made 3 little snowmen & 1 big one, complete with sunglasses.

She is HOT!!

Last night all four of us piled in the bed & started watching the Mis America Pagent. It was the Evening Gown competition & Colton kept saying "She is hot!" to some of the girls. I asked Colton if Mommy was hot - he said yes & Kenleigh put her hand on my forehead (like checking for a fever) & told me I wasn't hot. Then Colton started again with the girls being "hot". When the next one came up, Kenleigh said "She is warmie!". Dusty & I just laughed & laughed!

Upward Basketball

Colton is playing Upward Basketball this year. It has been a somewhat tough start (he had never really played basketball before), but he is getting better with every practice. I always thought Colton was tall for his age, but he is one of the shortest on the team! We've had two games & he still is excited to play - he's really enjoying it!

President

Congratulations, President Obama!!

Baptism

Dusty & I had Colton & Kenleigh baptized on Sunday, January 11. I hate that it hadn't been done earlier, but we wanted to wait until we were settled into a church. I also think that by having them baptized at this age, they somewhat understand what is happening. Colton understood by saying that it meant he is now a "child of God". I am so grateful for my children & for the wonderful day!!

Happy Birthday, Will!

Will turned 3 on January 9th. We had a great time at his birthday party - even Mommy & Daddy got in the fun! After I downloaded the pictures, I realized Colton wasn't in any - guess he was too busy hanging with the big boys :)
