1st Soccer Game

The Lady Lightning had their first soccer game of the season. It was interesting, to say the least. Reminds me a lot of Colton's first Upward Soccer season. Of the six girls on the team, only two show real interest (Kenleigh being one of them)! It was hard to get four girls on the field at all times. Kenleigh seemed to enjoy it - she likes playing offense better than defense - doesn't like to take the ball away from another girl! I look forward to seeing how much they improve over the season.

Back to School

Our summer is over & the kids have gone back to school.

Colton is in 3rd grade this year. The first day of school, he was so excited he got up at 6:00 (45 mins early) & got dressed on his own!! He has a new teacher this year, but she seems GREAT. He is SO excited to be back in class with Will, the very first friend he made at Rocky Hill.

Kenleigh started Pre K this year. I can't believe she will be in Kindergarten next year! We are looking forward to a great year. She is in class with Will & their teachers, Ms Karen & Ms Kathleen, were Colton's Pre K teachers & taught at Preschool the same time Mom did.

Slip N Slide Fun

Aunt Jamie & Uncle Bill have a great hill for a slip n slide. I had a shower at Church, so Dusty took the kids to play. Uncle Bill fixes it up & off they go! Even the grown men take a turn. Maybe next year, I will be able to slide down the hill!

Fundraiser

We held a fundraiser for our Race for the Cure team, Christy's Angels, in July. I had been wanting to have something for a while, so I started planning & it took off. It was a WONDERFUL night - at a beautiful location (Pavilion at Hunter Valley Farm), great food, great entertainment & lots of family & friends!! We were so blessed that family came in from Texas (Mom's brothers, Uncle Mark & Uncle Bobby, Aunt Kay & our cousins David & Katrina, Erica & Keri) & Florida (Mom's cousin, Jeff & Libby, Carrie & Andrew) to be with us.

We raised lots of money for a great cause & are hoping to make this an annual event!!

Reunion Weekend

We headed up to Hungry Mother State Park in Virginia for the annual family reunion for Dusty's dad's side of the family. The kids had more fun this year than we have in the past. We don't know much of the family, but the park is beautiful with lots of fun things to do. This year, we took the kids out on paddle boats. Kenleigh got to ride with Papaw & Dusty, Colton & I went out on another.

On the way to Dusty's grandparent's house, we stopped at the state Fish Hatchery. The kids loved feeding all the fish - from little bitty ones to huge ones! Kenleigh was funny - she had to put food in each of the 40 tanks so each fish got some!

Soccer!

Kenleigh is playing Upward Soccer this year. She was so excited to go get some pink soccer gear!!





Practice has been interesting - we'll see how the games go!
