New Fence

Ivy learned to get over our old fence, so we finally broke down and had a new, 6 foot fence put up. She LOVES being outside - and it is much nicer to just let her out instead of taking her on the leash each time!

She is also a true water dog. We have had lots of rain over the past few weeks, and Ivy doesn't mind. She likes to stay out and get into trouble. There used to be a tarp covering our sandbox (until Ivy decided it looked tasty), so she likes to lay in the sand. She is also a digger (we've got to find a way to stop that). There was a nice hole that filled with mud - she kept digging anyway. I saw her just flinging muddy water all over the place. Needless to say, Ivy has been getting lots of baths :)

Go Vols!!

We went to see the Vols play the home opener with Coach Lane Kiffen against Western Kentucky. It was Kenleigh's first UT game. She did great! We were a little cramped (4 of us trying to cram into 2 1/2 seats b/c someone was squeezing an extra person in) & it was a HOT day. We made it almost through 3 quarters :)

Preschool

Kenleigh was super excited for her first day of Preschool. She is loving school & her new teachers, Ms. Dana & Ms. Michelle.

Colton is a member of the Jr Vols Club again this year. This year, we got to tour the basketball locker rooms at Thompson-Boling and Pratt Pavilion. I think his favorite part was getting to shoot baskets on the practice court!

Swimming Lessons

Thought I would sit down & post some long overdue updates!

We tackled our first swimming lesson sessions with Ms. Mildred this summer. Kenleigh did one session with Mommy & one session all by herself - Colton just did one session. He just wasn't too excited about it! I can't believe how much Kenleigh learned in those 15 days - she is such a little fishy :) Aunt Jamie & Will were in the Mommy & Me class with Kenleigh & I - that was so much fun to get to spend time with them.

2nd Grade

My little boy is now a big 2nd grader!!! He was excited to start school - I hope his love of school continues. He has a male teacher this year & so far is loving it. He was a little upset because 3 of his best friends ended up in the class with the teacher he wanted. I'm very excited about the teacher we have - seems to love what he does & goes the extra mile for the kids' education. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful year!

Hilton Head 2009

We were able to take an end of the summer trip to Hilton Head with Dusty's parents. A family friend let us stay at their beautiful condo - thanks, Coffeys!! The weather was iffy the whole time we were there, but we were able to get in some time at the pool, go to Harbourtown to hear Mr. Russell, eat at Salty Dog, have ice cream at Marley's & play a little putt-putt. We got home just in time to head to bed before the first day of school!
